Claire Curzan of Cardinal Gibbons High School in Raleigh, North Carolina, was named the 2022 High School Sports Awards Girls Athlete of the Year

High School Sports Awards is the biggest secondary school sports acknowledgment program in the country. 

More than 800 competitors were respected and champs for 29 games and other unique honors were reported during the live show, 

which was facilitated by previous NFL tight finishes Rob Gronkowski and Vernon Davis.

Gronkowski shocked Curzan with the distinction during a new appearance on CBS Mornings:
